Plastic pouches have become part of our daily lives. Pouch making has become a dynamic area of the packaging sector with much developments moving towards the use of more advanced technologies. When materials, like resins, are blended and melted and later blown into multilayer plastic membranes or films, they still need further processing to turn them into pouches or bags. Thus, bag making machines are simply at the end-side of plastic bag manufacturing since several other machineries making raw materials first, such as blown film machines, would have to be used. In other factories, the blown film materials undergo surface printing and aluminum adhesion before they are fed into bag making machines.
Materials for multi-layer bags need to be attached together, which is called secondary packaging materials, and these require Dah Bah’s machine for producing special pouches for medical, chemical, or other products and applications. The attachment includes many raw membranes, and after processing, these materials are reeled in packs ready for Dah Bah’s bag making machines for final processing. The production of pouch and the filling of the content are not performed in the same production line. Rather, these are done separately due to many technical issues.
Not all pouches are made in this manual way. Only 20 percent of plastic pouches are included in this category, and the rest are for total automatic procedure. The automatic Form-Fill-Seal machine performs the filling of the content during the production line, such as the production of potato chips and the wrapping packaging bags. The potato chips are weighed by sensors and filled by feeders simultaneously during the production. This procedure is more for general purpose requirements.
On the other side, roughly 20 percent of the pouches are produced for special content that cannot be processed automatically. The content may be too sticky or difficult to be dealt with by robotic arms hence the manufacturing of the pouch is set separately from other general procedures. In this aspect, Dah Bah’s machines are aimed at meeting the complex requirements of special industries. This type of machine is referred to as converting machinery because this type of machine only transforms the reel material from one form to another form without doing other processing, such as content filling.
Setting the parameters for varied purposes
During the manufacturing, these machines have to be set for specific settings such as different temperatures, pressure, and sealing time for different materials to be made into a complete pouch where the plastic material attach with other parts or components such as aluminum, papers, or others. Stand-up pouch, three-side-seal zipper bag, and side seal pouches are thus produced by the bag making machines.

Customers in different sectors request for specific pouches that meet their requirements. For example, tea farmers generally choose the centre seal ACM-43 series since it can compound sealable laminated films to 40-150μ thickness. This series offers 180 cuts per minute, providing an efficient environment for producers. Further, the ACM-43Q can do gusset sealing on the sides, making the appearance even smoother for the customers. The upgraded dancer-roller section with 2-step film folding devices provides stable tension and accurate forming procedure. Moreover, optimal sealing results through the use of double sealing and cooling devices, with individual temperature adjustment being especially critical for high speed production.
