High speed zoom lens system increases productivity

Optical Gaging Products (OGP), a division of Quality Vision International Inc. (QVI), introduces its newest SmartScope ZIP Advance multisensor measuring system.  SmartScope  ZIP is one of OGP’s most popular multisensor measurement systems, combining a proven mechanical transport with high resolution zoom optics.  

The new SmartScope ZIP Advance is designed for maximum productivity in applications, which require frequent magnification changes.  The high speed LinearCentric zoom lens system can switch between any two calibrated zoom positions in one second, enabling significantly faster throughput for measurement routines containing both large and small features.  

ZIP Advance systems are specifically optimized to provide great productivity without compromising accuracy or reliability.  The systems feature a zoom lens that has the widest magnification range and the fastest operation in the industry. The zoom is coupled to receiving optics that provide outstanding laser performance, while also delivering uncompromised video imaging.

ZIP Advance is designed for continuous use in demanding production environments. Its mechanical stages are high speed and have a position resolution of 50 nanometers (.05 micrometers) on all axes of motion.

The standard SmartScope ZIP Advance optical configuration includes a 1X back tube with a 2X high performance receiving lens, offering a generous 38 mm working distance. This configuration features both large field of view at low magnification and an instantly available high magnification for accurate measurement of small features and for optimum autofocus measurement accuracy.

ZIP Advance features a standard illumination package including a green LED backlight, a white LED square-on TTL surface illuminator, and a patented low-incidence eight sector LED Vu-Light for oblique surface illumination. The on-off status and the intensity of each lightsource is computer controlled. The Vu-Light permits individual control of all 48 segments.
