HITACHI Medical Systems Europe has recently announced the new generation of OasisTM at the ECR 2015.
The open high-field 1.2T MRI features enhanced processing power to overcome obstacles and prevent delays toward optimizing workflow management and costs, altogether setting a benchmark for patient-centric care. Its high efficiency, quality, patient comfort, and safety for imaging makes it ideal for use in neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, oncology, vascular, and general imaging, and in men's and women's health applications.

The Oasis packs highly advanced imaging platform with workflow-oriented features and advanced clinical capabilities. It simplifies planning of even the most complex examinations easy through the Origin Clinical Study Library, Graphical User Interface (GUI), Intelligent Parameter Guidance, and Real-time Image Quality Calculator. It has simultaneous scan, reconstruction, and multitasked image processing to achieve high throughput, while the interoperability features ensure seamless PACS integration.
The product’s AutoPose can automatically determine and place optimal main scan slice locations to ensure high reproducibility and improve consistency in sequence planning. Slices can be reconstructed in any plane, tissue contrast, or anatomy through the isotropic volume acquisition (isoFSE 3D), which has high SNR and resolution, for unlimited images even with just one scan. Improved gray/white matter differentiation and fluid/cartilage visualization can be achieved using the Additive Arrangement Gradient Echo (ADAGE), which employs combinations of multiple echoes to create high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) images with reduced chemical shift. Image resolution is optimized using a flexible, user-selectable reconstruction matrix.
The 1.2T high-field MRI has a unique open and wide patient platform to reduce blur and ensure patient comfort. Patients can have an unobstructed panoramic view with the product’s 270-degree viewing angle, which also provides the operator a clear view of the progress of the scanning procedure.
The Oasis has a spacious setup and calming atmosphere to put claustrophobic, pediatric, and bariatric patients of up to 300kg at ease. Its peaceful, ambient illuminated gantry helps relax patients as well. The extra-wide 82cm patient table with in-gantry lateral movement, modern SoftSound technology for silent gradients, and multiple coil connections offer efficient operator support and enables fast, patient-friendly exams.
"We are very pleased to bring with the new generation of Oasis our patient-centric philosophy to new levels in open high-field MRI," said Keiichi Yusa, director of the MR/CT Division, Hitachi Medical Systems Europe.
"Putting patients at ease means reducing the need for repeat scans and decreases scan time while promoting higher diagnostic image quality. The open architecture is a truly valued and complementary tool for healthcare providers who have an array of scanners but consider this flexibility to be an essential offering for their service. Oasis allows imaging centers and clinics to perform their exams more comfortably and efficiently," Mr. Yusa added.
