A provider of augmented reality (AR) technology, Banuba has added hair tracking AR and new colouring options to its virtual try-on platform.

Banuba, a provider of augmented reality (AR) technology, has made improvements to its hair colour try-on technology. The HK-based company has added two new features that will enhance the accuracy and customisation of the hair colour try-on experience.

The first new addition is an advanced hair detection system that allows for more accurate separation of hair from the background and other objects. This means that users will be able to see a more realistic representation of how a dye will look on their actual hair, rather than a generic image. The new system will also be able to detect different hair textures and lengths, making the try-on experience even more personalised.

The second new feature is the ability to dye separate strands in different colours. This means that people can experiment with different colour combinations and create unique looks that suit their individual style.

Banuba's improved hair colour changer is a massive boost for brands selling hair colouring products. Among other virtual try-before-you-buy options from Banuba are makeup, jewelry, hats, glasses, colour lenses, etc.

The other product that would soon benefit from the improved hair dye try-on is TINT makeup try-on – Banuba’s cloud-based cosmetics try-on solution. It lets brands offer their customers a full range of beauty products, including all kinds of decorative cosmetics, skin care products, and even coloured contacts. TINT is known for its unrivaled realism, and the new feature will help cement this reputation, as well as expand its usefulness for both businesses and consumers. See Banuba TINT at work.
