FOOTHILL RANCH, CA – Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. and HT Systems have announced an agreement that designates HT Systems as the exclusive master distributor of Fujitsu’s PalmSecure? biometric palm vein sensors for solutions that link the biometric palm vein pattern of a patient to their medical record in a HIS registration, EMPI or EMR system.
The Fujitsu PalmSecure biometric palm vein sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user’s palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against the palm vein patterns of pre-registered users. The device is hygienic, non-intrusive and unrestricted by external factors such as skin types and conditions.
HT Systems’ PatientSecure is a biometric patient identification management system that uses Fujitsu’s PalmSecure sensors and automatically links patients to their unique medical record, improving safety and preventing fraud. It is currently used by over 160 hospitals in the U.S., with over 5 million patients enrolled to the PatientSecure system.
“HT Systems has helped pave the way in the Healthcare market for Fujitsu’s PalmSecure biometric palm vein sensors since 2007,” stated Yoshi Masuda, president and CEO of Fujitsu Frontech North America. “They have established a clear market leader position in the biometric patient identification segment and have a proven record of providing excellent solutions and services to the healthcare community. We are excited about the prospects of this new exclusive partnership and look forward to growing market share in the Healthcare market with our two companies’ combined solution.”
