H&V acquires India-based innovator

HOLLINGSWORTH & Vose (H&V), a global supplier of advanced materials for filtration, battery separator and industrial applications, has acquired Mysore, India-based Raman FibreScience (RFS), effective immediately. RFS is a technology and innovation-driven company specializing in advanced materials for filtration media and battery separator applications.

Commenting on the acquisition, Hollingsworth & Vose CEO Val Hollingsworth said: “Raman FibreScience has a strong team with considerable experience in wetlaid fiber-based technology. For H&V, India represents an important market and the RFS location and team provide H&V with an operational base with which to serve our customers and grow our India presence.”

H&V entered the Indian market in 2011 when it formed a joint venture with Nath Group. This venture operates a water and solvent-based engine filter media plant near Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
