Hybrid event in the Philippines focuses on green packaging and recycling

2023 ASEAN Plastics Packaging and Recycling Technologies Summit (October 26-27 / Manila) is a gathering of international and Philippine-based industry experts to discuss key developments that will enable packaging to achieve circularity.

Southeast Asian countries are dynamic markets for packaging given the growing population of consumers whose demand has been fueling innovations in this sector. Beyond aesthetics, consumers in the region are showing increased awareness on the environmental impact of plastic packaging that the use of sustainable materials and advanced recycling technologies are fast gaining acceptance.

 

Designing green packaging, efficient packaging production and cost-saving recycling technologies are only a few of the relevant information that participants will learn at the ASEAN Plastics Packaging and Recycling Technologies Summit, scheduled to be held on October 26-27 at the Century Park Hotel in Manila. The hybrid event features an onsite conference that will be attended by professionals in the packaging industry and recycling sector, and an online coverage where viewers from outside the Philippines can participate. Organized by Ringier Events, the Summit is one of the series of post-pandemic hybrid conferences in Southeast Asia that were held in such key cities as Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok and Jakarta. This time, the Summit in Manila takes on the relevant issues surrounding packaging design and packaging production, as well as recycling to achieve a circular economy.

The Summit has the support of major players in the plastics industry - Dow through the Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics, FIMIC Srl, Ever Polymer Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Tyrone Environmental Technology Co., Ltd and Plastic Bank, and leading association/agency such as the Department of Science and Technology- Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) and Association of Petrochemical Manufacturers of the Philippines (APMP).  Speakers from the Asian Packaging Federation (APF), Philippine Plastics Industry Association (PPIA), Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS), De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Manila, APChemi, ASM Global and Green Antz Builders, Colliers, and Krones Filipinas Inc. are expected to provide valuable information that will guide professionals in enhancing their technical knowledge.

The factory tour that will cap the 2-day Summit is scheduled to be held at the facility of Manly Plastics, Inc., the largest provider of end-to-end plastic product solutions in the Philippines.
