DOLD’s product exhibits at this year’s IAS underscore the firm’s key product categories, namely safety PCB relays, safety modules, safety PLCs, monitoring devices, IMDs, and RCMs. Now widely used in China, these products can be applied in rail transport, new energy, machine tools, medical devices, metallurgy equipment, and automation.
Dold China general manager Zhao Xiaoyun says escalating labor costs will spur demand for automation and robots in China
With robotics operation requiring a greater degree of protection both for the machine and the operator, the company can customize its safety solutions to further improve operation efficiency and enhance safety.
Germany’s Dold established a representative office in China in 2010, and this year set up a subsidiary. It has in the past few years expanded into several industries, including rail transport, new energy, and industrial automation. It plans to explore the new energy car, architecture, metallurgy, and engineering sectors in coming years.
As labor costs in China continue on an upward trend, demand for automation and robots, particularly in labor-intensive industries such as automotive manufacturing and electronics assembly, will climb further. This will spur the China robot industry, according to general manager Zhao Xiaoyun.
Dold is marking its fifth year at IAS. The Taicang office is showcasing its products at the show for the first time.
