IAS 2014: G.M. International's high-performance safety technologies

G.M. INTERNATIONAL is showcasing its latest intrinsic safety multichannel signal acquisition systems, SIL3 safety relays, and safety power supplies at IAS 2014.

A first-time exhibitor at the IAS, G. M. International specializes in manufacturing high-performance industry automation, functional safety, and intrinsic safety technologies. Its PSS1250 series SIL3 safety power supplies can be installed with the termination boards or DIN rails and features n+1 redundancy and triple anti-surge technologies.

Scheduled for a global launch early next year, the product is certified as SIL3 functional safety and is online-pluggable. It features diagnostic and alarm functions, flexible configurations, and up to 24VDC/300A power supply. The compact product is suitable for marine and other harsh environments, and petrochemicals emergency shutdown systems, turbine control systems, pharmaceutical control systems, nuclear power control systems, and offshore platforms in industries that require high power supply safety.

G.M.International emphasizes intelligent controls in its functional safety products in response to rising demand for “intelligent manufacturing” and high-performance online diagnostics and fault alarms. Its SIL3-certified functional safety relay series incorporates online monitoring and alarm. It will trigger real-time alarm in the event that the preset warning load and line circuit parameters are breached to prevent unscheduled shutdowns. Many of the firm’s safety barriers, isolators, safety relays and safety power supplies pack this feature.

Spurred by its mission of “Technology for Safety,” Europe-based G, M. International has been focusing on intrinsic safety and functional safety technology for 40 years. It opened its Shanghai operations in 2013 to be closer to customers in the region.
