Ideas pay off for Engineers without Borders

BOCHUM, Germany – Throughout the year, the staff at GEA Heat Exchangers collect ideas and improvement suggestions from the whole world, to further improve their company. This time, GEA Heat Exchangers presented a special idea: For every suggestion that our staff submitted from December 2 to 20, 2013 to the internationally installed in-house Idea and Improvement Management System, GEA would contribute ten euros as a donation to a worthy cause. GEA donated the total sum of €2,470 to the non-profit organization Engineers without Borders Germany. 

Christoph Michel, segment president of GEA Heat Exchangers, said: “We are pleased that so many of our colleagues took part in this idea campaign for such a good cause. GEA, as a mechanical engineering company, of course especially respects the charity Engineers without Borders Germany. It is indeed highly impressive to see how this organization helps people in need, by sustainably giving them new opportunities to further their own development.”

It furnishes aid, for example, to schools, hospitals, and isolated villages in the areas of water supply, sanitary facilities, and power generation. By assurance of basic infrastructure facilities, this organization improves the conditions under which people live.
