GUANGZHOU, China – Key to its expanding in emerging markets, International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (NYSE: IFF), has set up what is now China’s biggest and most technically advanced facilities for flavours and fragrances. At US$100 million, the facility is also one of IFF’s largest investments in Asia.
The 19,000m2 site, located in the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development District,
comprises sales and administration offices, laboratories, factory buildings, and support services and will manufacture all product types currently made by the China, as well as spray dry. It will supply flavours (sweet and savoury) to food and beverage manufacturers worldwide.
The projected annual capacity will be three times that of the existing manufacturing site. To reduce impact on the environment, all structures on the site and all manufacturing processes are designed to comply with IFF’s sustainability standards, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, low water consumption and minimal waste.

Commercial production will begin in the third quarter of 2013. The next few months will be focused on testing and production trials to help ensure all its products meet the global standards.
