iftech food + bev tec Pakistan 2013

ALEADING event for food processing and packaging, Iftech food + bev tec in Pakistan has gained a number of loyal participants from neighbouring countries since it was launched. Now on its 10 th  year, the fair has become a common platform for local and international brand owners, professionals and suppliers, many of whom now come from Europe and the United States.

Numerous companies from the West have seen successful transactions with local companies. Last year, organisers reported that 92 companies from 21 countries and more than 3,400 visitors attended the show. According to surveys, 84% of exhibitors were satisfied with the turnout. One of the highlights was the unexpectedly high visitor attendance–50% more than organisers had foreseen.

Pakistan has been importing food processing and  packaging equipment from various manufacturers in the United States, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK, Poland, Denmark, China, Singapore and other Asian countries. In 2011, imports of such equipment reached US$110.3 million, up by 12.5% from the previous year, according to the VDMA-The German Engineering Association. The show is organised by local firm Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt.) Ltd and fairtrade GmbH & Co. KG in Germany.
