IMCD has a new office in Tokyo

IMCD, a leading distributor of speciality chemicals and food ingredients from the Netherlands, has expanded into Japan. Its office in Tokyo will be headed by newly appointed managing director, Mr Shunsaku Kubo beginning 1 April 2016.

Mr Kubo has worked in some of the leading chemical companies, and brings 24 years of experience in senior managerial positions to his new role. He has a Bachelor degree of Chemical Engineering from the Kobe University in Japan and MBA from University of Leicester in UK.

Gabriele Bonomi, Executive Committee member of IMCD, said: “We have some very strong relationships with leading Japanese suppliers of high quality ingredients and by opening of this office we want to be closer to them and further strengthen that good relationship. In addition, we intend to bring some of our existing top class suppliers to the Japanese market, utilising our global market presence and product knowledge.” 

In the Asia-Pacific region, the company currently operates in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
