High-speed cutting for multiplepart projects
OMAX Corp. will be showing its latest in advanced abrasive waterjet technology for a wide variety of industries and shop sizes. The OMAX 80X series of bridge-style abrasive waterjet machines encompasses multiple table sizes and generous work envelopes with X-Y cutting travels that range from 13 feet 9-inches up to 26 feet 8 inches x 6 feet 8 inches (4.2 – 11.2 meters x 2.03 meters), making the lineup ideal for machining large-scale components and multiplepart projects. New standard in sawing, machining centre
Rattunde Corp. will exhibit the ACS + CFMcurve integrated sawing and machining centre. A fully operational system will be producing a variety of parts, demonstrating the fully automated flexibility of this manufacturing centre. The ACS sawing machine is the new industry standard for cold saws. It utilises a proprietary sawing algorithm with servo motor controlled feed to continuously adjust critical sawing parameters during each cut. The results are the fastest sawing times, best surface finish and longest blade life available on the market. The CFMcurve machining centre is a patented Rattunde process that simultaneously machines each workpiece end, using 12 independent servo-controlled axes. Machining options include: threading, boring, profile turning, grooving, radius edges and angled chamfering. Programming screens guide operators for quick setup on even the most complex part geometry. No special programming is required. The ACS + CFMcurve is available in three models with diameter ranges from 10mm to 102mm, 10mm to 136mm and 10mm to 169mm, with finished part lengths from 10mm to 3500 mm. All material types can be processed.

Reishauer RZ 60 for planetary pinions
The RZ 60 on display at IMTS 2012 has been optimised for machining planetary pinions for the automotive industry. When grinding planetary gears, the cycle times are very short due to the small size of the workpieces and large batch volumes. The large batches are primarily a result of using three to five identical planetary pinions for every automatic transmission produced. In contrast, each component occurs only once in manual or doubleclutch transmission. For the machine tool, this means that high priority has been given to the reduction of the cycle times, while compromises if required can be made for change-over times.
