India world's fourth largest steel maker, says WSA

India has kept its position as the fourth largest steel producer in 2011, in spite of the 5.7% output growth against the world average of 6.8%, the World Steel Association (WSA) stated. Recording an increase of 6.8% in 2011 over 2010, the comglobal steel production hit a record 1,527 million tonnes. On the other hand, India produced 72.2 metric tonnes last year over 68.3 metric tonnes in the previous year.Hombre
