Source:Ringier Release Date:2013-03-06 173
Even in the wake of the global economic slowdown, India is set to achieve its growth targets for plastic exports as shipments have risen in new and existing markets. Rajan Kalyanpur, Executive Director of Plastic Export Promotion Council said that the industry is confident of achieving 15 percent growth target this year from last year’s exports of $7.1 billion, which was 2.3 percent of India’s total exports. New markets in Africa and South America offer growth opportunities for Indian plastic exporters. Plastic machinery from India was also in demand in these markets. The growth in plastic shipments is attributed to higher demand for plastic sheets, films, sacks, bags and other moulded products. The countries that import more plastics from India include China, those from the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America. Black Friday 19
