INEOS Styrolution has made final investment decision to construct a new 100kt capacity acrylonitrile styrene acrylate polymer (ASA) plant at its site in Bayport, Texas. The new plant will seal INEOS Styrolution position as the only global producer with ASA production capacity in all regions. Once operational in 2021, the new facility will provide additional capacity of ABS polymers at the existing INEOS Styrolution Altamira plant in Mexico.
A contract for engineering, procurement, and construction has been awarded to WorleyParsons. The additional ASA capacity will allow for more flexible production of specialty grades to meet growing demand in the Americas. In addition, the company will also be able to produce more ABS in its existing plant in Mexico, according to Alexander Glueck, President Americas.

Kevin McQuade, CEO INEOS Styrolution, added that the company continues to follow a strong growth path to meet customer needs, particularly in growth markets like the Americas, with its Triple Shift growth strategy serving as an excellent advisor.
