The centre aims to spread the 'culture of innovation' in the industry sector, determine industrial fields that require research and innovation and identity the challenges facing the sector.
The centre also seeks to provide consultancy and help small and medium enterprises develop their products and gain expertise.
PEIE is on a continuous quest to attract foreign investments to the Sultanate, stablise local capital and provide infrastructure that meets the needs of all types of investments. It also works to enhance co-operation with regional and international bodies. One of PEIE 's most important new concepts for developing the industry sector is the introduction of modern techniques to help increase productivity and upgrade the technical skills of workers, while at the same time providing new jobs for citizens. Standard features in PEIE 's industrial development plans include the encouragement of exporting and the establishment of export-oriented industries, the activation of related economic sectors like transport, tourism, banking activity and research.

The Industrial Innovation Centre, founded by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates ( PEIE ) in co-operation with The Research Council (TRC), is offering a variety of solutions to the industry sector to help improve quality and cut down the cost of new projects.
