QUALITY, skill, reliability, service orientation and powerful new ideas – these are the watchwords that explain the success of Swiss products and attract food producers, retailers, caterers and hoteliers around the world. At Gulfood 2012, ten Swiss companies present products and solutions addressing all aspects of food and beverage. There is an impressive range on show – running from premium semi-finished products for dessert dishes to modern high tech baking lines. The attractive Swiss Pavilion in Hall 2 is organised by Osec in collaboration with the Swiss Business Hub Dubai.
Premium desserts for industry and retail For discerning connoisseurs, one exhibitor presents its Swiss and European confectionery specialities, including premium French nougat and hand-made soft ice cream creations with flavours including vanilla, chocolate, mocha, strawberry, lemon and pistachio. Another internationally renowned producer of Swiss chocolate specialities presents its premium couvertures made from dark and white chocolate, milk chocolate and chocolate splitters, fillings and cocoa butter for the commercial preparation of excellent desserts, patisserie and baked goods. Amongst the new introductions of this exhibitor are lactose-free milk chocolate and a wide range of different fillings. Top Swiss quality semi-finished products are featured by another exhibitor. Examples of its products are bakery jams supplied with piping bag, which hugely simplifies processing in the industry. Jellies and dessert sauces made from fresh fruits complete the range. There is also an exhibitor who uses FairTrade products, e.g. rice, sugar and dates.
Coffee specialities and an ecological coffee concept A new coffee machine makes a sparkling appearance. Its selling point is its ecological non-returnable concept integral to the fresh milk system. The milk feed components are simply replaced rather than cleaned, which dispenses completely with chemical cleaning agents. The coffee machine has a touchscreen-operating panel, ideal for self-service. Thanks to the modular design, it is easy to fit add-ons to the new coffee machine. Amongst the add-on options available is a credit system, a second grinder and a powder system. Lovers of premium coffee creations also have plenty to enjoy at the Swiss Pavilion. Another company presents its new coffee varieties, blended from high-quality and rare coffee beans. The exhibitor also provides airlines with premium coffee products.
Innovative technology for professionals In the production of baked goods and beverages, Swiss exhibitors provide efficient support coupled with professional solutions. For example, one company specialising in baking technology, has developed a tunnel-type baking oven specifically for baked goods in Arab countries and the Asian market. The tunnel elements are 2–16 m long and can reach a baking temperature of up to 450°C. The new 'OptiEnergy' control system enables regulation of the power uptake by the individual heating elements, which cuts out power usage peaks. This slashes energy costs by more than 30%. Another exhibitor is one of the specialists in the development and production of cheeses, hygiene and packaging technology – from individual machines to complete processing lines. Some of the products it supplies are maturation systems and slicing machines for pizza cheese and mozzarella. Amongst the new features are innovative packaging systems for hot filling into bags and 20 kg boxes. Commercial mixers and juice presses for bars, hotels and restaurants are presented by another exhibitor. Amongst this exhibitor's new developments are a redesigned juice centrifuge made in stainless steel, which reliably delivers maximum juice yields from bNike Roshe
