For this year's highlight, BOI invited investors and buyers as well as major manufacturers from over 10 countries to attend.
Industry Minister Atchaka Sibunruang said that the INTERMACH & SUBCON Thailand 2016 is expected to help shows in the country towards readiness for being the region's centre of high technology and sophisticated industries, focusing on 10 industrial clusters. The event will also help support the government's industry 4.0 and Thailand 4.0 model to ensure strong growth and sustainable for all technology.
Taveesak Srisuntisuk, Managing Director, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Thailand
During the exhibition, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence highlighted TIGO SF. This versatile, air-free high performance coordinate measuring machine for the shop-floor is designed to operate in harsh environments. Taveesak Srisuntisuk, Managing Director of Hexagon Thailand believes that this suitable for factory settings in Asia since the enhanced structural thermal compensation allows precise measurements in a temperature range from 15 to 30 °C. Aside from that the machine is fully equipped with covers and bellows to prevent contamination of the moving parts; the machine stand that houses the electronic equipment is also available in an IP54-certified version. Passive dampers protect the machine from most common vibrations on the shop floor.
When asked about the business in Thailand, Taveesak Srisuntisuk says business activities still looks gloomy. Growth for automotive industry, which is the main industry for Hexagon, continues to display a sluggish pace as it showed in the first few months of last year. To help boost business, Taveesak says he is studying other industries like the oil & gas industry. As a result, the company will join the oil & gas show in Thailand, as well as in Ho Chi Mihn. “We know that the oil & gas industry needs our products that is why we decided to participate in the roadshows.”
Wai Yip Lee, General Manager at Hurco (South East Asia) Pte Ltd, Jaturaporn Singha, Sales Manager of Thaimach Sales & Services Co. Ltd
INTERMACH & SUBCON Thailand 2016 is an exciting time for Hurco (South East Asia) Pte Ltd and Thaimach Sales & Services Co. Ltd, a Thai-based distributor of world-known brands, to announce their partnership.
Wai Yip Lee, General Manager at Hurco says the partnership started in March this year, and INTERMACH is the first tradeshow for the two companies. It is also a way for them to broadcast the collaboration. Wai Yip believes that Thaimach can help provide Hurco a level of service to the network that is more focused and targeted. They have closer relationships with customers in Thailand and better understanding of their needs.
Jaturaporn Singha, Sales Manager from Thaimach, states, “We have established relationships with our customers that go beyond sales. We are concerned about the longevity of their business and will only present products that are in our customers’ best interest. We know that Hurco machines can deliver the best output.”
In addition, Hurco has demonstrated its 5-axis trunnion style machining center. An ideal configuration for 5-sided machining, especially if you‘ve always worked on a 3-axis machine because the trunnion style design uses the same principles as 3-axis (i.e., you still machine in a linear fashion, but you just machine more sides). This means less training, less setup time, and more flexibility. More clearance in Z-axis. The integrated design of the trunnion table 5-axis VMC gives you more clearance in Z, especially compared to 3-axis VMCs with a trunnion table added to simulate a 5-axis VMC.
Roger Hagmann, Sales Director from Bystronic Pte Ltd
Hagmann talked about BySprint 4-kW fiber laser cutting machine holds the potential to expand the cutting opportunities for metal fabricators in Thailand. The machine’s lower operating costs help to reduce cost per part and increase margins for fabricators, he said, and its faster cutting speeds increase part throughput and cutting capacity. The lower operating cost for this type of laser cutting device is related to the fact that it doesn’t require as much electricity to generate its laser beam and doesn’t require consumables such as laser gases and mirrors.
BySprint Fibe 4kW provides users the flexibility to cut materials across a full thickness range up to ¾ in, with the speed and economic efficiency associated with utilising modern fiber laser technology.
Gron Vanichkobchinda, Product Specialist & Marketing Developer, Tungaloy Cutting Tool (Thailand) Co. Ltd.
Vanichkobchinda introduced the The EcoTurn inserts in which despite being dimensionally small, incorporate the identical chipbreakers and insert thicknesses as the regular-sized ISO turning inserts, which are closely attributed to the insert’s cutting performance. He says the EcoTurn inserts are able to provide the same cutting performance as the regular-sized inserts when removing a depth of cut equal to or less than 3.0mm in general turning operations. The insert thickness is usually reduced when the downsized inserts are used, resulting in lessening fracture resistance. The EcoTurn inserts, however, have the thickness of the regular-sized inserts and deliver the same level of fracture resistance. Another product Vanichkobchinda presented is the DOTRIPLE-MILL that features an improved dovetail clamping structure and offers triple advantage of using square, octagonal and round inserts in the same pocket.
