The 24th Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) draws not only highly-qualified visitors but also journalists from all over the international media as well. Ringier spoke to various members of the media. These reporters spoke of how this year’s TIMTOS showed remarkable visitors and buyer turnouts. Ringier also provided its own thoughts about the show.

Nick Vivian, a Journalist from Taiwan MachineSources is hoping to see more from the customers turning out." I think today there seems to be a lot more people coming from India recently and it is a good sign. I’ve been here to Nangang visiting to some of the people I know already and to the world trade centre location. I thought yesterday there are seems to be many but today there seems to be more I don’t know why. The first and second day seems to be good but third day seems to be strange. Maybe they are taking a break or going to factories possible, because they are all in Taichung. Most customers are seemed to be very happy so far with the show. We were talking to Fair Friend Group and they have a very good show so far and also Mitsubishi. TIMTOS is a lot less tiring when you compare to IMTS in the U.S. or EMO in Hannover. It is much nicer to have everything in a more compact area."

Giancarlo Giannangeli, Freelance Journalist representing Tecnologie Meccaniche, stated, “ Italy is maybe the third or fourth largest machine tool manufacturing country in the world after Germany and Japan that is not possible to reach, and we are more or less on the same level. But Taiwan is rising and Italy is decreasing. On the other hand, this is my first time to attend TIMTOS. The show is perfect. There are a lot of manufacturers. There aren’t much European manufacturers here but it is comprehensible because maybe there are other exhibitions like EMO in Europe, which is very important. Taiwan machine tools manufacturers are trying to penetrate the European market. Some are already present even in Italy, obviously. Since second to Germany, Italy is the second most important manufacturing country in Europe. So the Italian market is very important. Some companies I spoke to say that they are happy with the way the show is turning out. Yesterday (March 6), I’ve noticed there are more visitors than the first day.  I found many Americans and some Italians but not much. This is the second time I attended a show in Asia. The first one is JIMTOF two years ago.  TIMTOS is a great show. Congratulations!
