The Hispack & Bta. 2012 project attracts 1,400 companies – 25% from abroad – with 100,000 m2 from 15-18

BARCELONA -- Bta. 2012 - Barcelona Food Technology holds its 13th edition with a focus on internationalisation and innovation at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía. The venue also hosts the most important trade fair devoted to machinery and technology for the food and drinks manufacturing industry in Europe. The fourth edition features the participation of leading international companies and offers new activities to promote the innovation of exhibitor companies.

Bta. opens its doors to all professionals from the food and food machinery and technology industries 15-18 May 2012, with a specialised selection of technology, machinery and ingredients for all sectors of the food manufacturing industry. Together with Hispack, the trade show is the most important event in Southern Europe devoted to this industry, attracting 1,400 companies and occupying 100,000 m2 of gross exhibition space. 45,000 visitors are expected to attend.

At this edition, internationalisation and innovation are the main focuses for the organisers. This strategy will be seen primarily in the activities associated with the event. These will include the International Business Centre, an area designed to generate business, with conferences, forums and business meetings organised together with AMEC (Multi-sector Business Association), FIAB (Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation) and ACC1ó (Government of Catalonia agency for the promotion of Catalan companies abroad).

Thanks to AMEC, delegations of professional visitors from Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey and China will be attending the trade show, generating business and synergies between companies.

This edition of Bta. consolidates the international plan to make the trade fair an international business hub for machinery and technology for the food manufacturing industry.

In the area of innovation, the Innovation Meeting Point will provide a single space concentrating all the companies that view innovation as a way to update their product offerings, expand into the international market and add value to their product. This area will offer a wide range of talks on innovation and the innovation process, reinforcing the aim of Bta. to provide a complete selection of high quality offerings for visitors and exhibitors. It will also feature stands where technology centres, official organisations and industry associations will provide information about the support available and help interested companies move forward in this area.

The New Products Area and Ingrenova will complete the programme of associated activities devoted to innovation at Bta. 

One exhibition, three shows

Through three dedicated shows – Tecnocárnica, Ingretecno and Tecnoalimentaria – the trade fair presents professionals with the full range of technology, machinery and intermediate products required by the food and beverage industry.
