EXTENDO? biaxially oriented polypropylene (BoPP) and NATIVIA? bio-based biaxially oriented PLA feature an extremely high barrier against mineral oils, thus preventing their migration from recycled paper and carton overwraps into packaged food. A study conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV) in Freising, Germany, confirmed the excellent barrier properties of these films.
