Jindal Films Europe (JFE), a global leader in the development and manufacture of specialty films for the flexible packaging and labeling markets, will showcase a range of printable, sealable and barrier BOPP and BOPE technologies on its booth (Hall 9 Stand F26) at interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf (DE). These innovative technologies are designed to support brand-owners in
transitioning from non-recyclable laminates to mono-material, mechanically recyclable PP- or PE- based laminates across numerous flexible packaging markets.
A foundational technology for mono-material PE solutions
The development of BOPE films marked a significant step in enabling fully recyclable mono-polyethylene laminates. By allowing the replacement of materials such as PET, paper, or aluminum foil, BOPE supports the design of packaging structures aligned with circular economy goals. Designed for recycling, BOPE films deliver excellent flatness and planarity, along with strong optical and mechanical performance. Ongoing developments have further enhanced barrier capabilities, as demonstrated by the latest high barrier film developments 25HD800, 25HD813 for direct printing and the metalized 25HDM880 for laminating.

A continuously evolving portfolio
Since the market launch of the first BOPE printing film Ethy-Lyte™ 25HD200 in 2021, JFE has steadily expanded its offering. The portfolio today includes solutions for high quality printing applications, including matte and matte/gloss finishes, as well as films with enhanced barrier performance for sensitive products.
These mono-PE structures are particularly suited for applications requiring high seal integrity. When combined with dedicated PE sealing films, they enable a wide range of packaging formats – from gas-flushed packs and powder products to heavy-duty applications and peelable coffee bags. Functional features such as zippers, valves, and sliders can be integrated as required.
Demonstrated adoption market adoption BOPE-based mono-PE solutions are now widely adopted across the packaging industry. JFE’s Ethy-Lyte™ BOPE films are used in demanding applications such as pet food, nuts, coffee, and fresh food, where they
have demonstrated reliable performance in both converting and packaging processes.
This progress reflects the collective efforts of stakeholders across the value chain – including converters, machine manufacturers, and brand owners – who have contributed to bringing BOPE technology to its current level of maturity.
A key role in the next phase of packaging sustainability
As the implementation of Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) advances in Europe, and new CEN design for recycling standards are expected in 2026, mono-material solutions will become increasingly important. In this context, BOPE technology continues to play a central role, supporting the development of fully recyclable polyethylene-based packaging solutions that meet evolving regulatory and sustainability requirements.
What’s next?
The installation of our new line in Brindisi is progressing and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. This investment will allow us to increase the capacity of BOPP and BOPE films, supporting growing demand for recyclable films.
