Interstate Specialty offers PDMS sheets, membranes

INTERSTATE Specialty Products is offering polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sheets and membranes for laboratory and medical applications. 

 

A major provider of die-cut components and custom cutting services, the Made in the USA manufacturing company can provide ultra-thin PDMS silicones as sheets. It can also die-cut PDMS sheets or continuous rolls into silicone membrane products. 

 

The odor-free polysiloxane compound meets FDA CFR 177.2600 and USP Class VI requirements. It was produced using a platinum cure catalyst system and has no outgassing or catalyst by-product unlike peroxide-cured silicones. 

 

The PDMS thin silicone membrane sheets or continuous rolls have a thin release layer and a standard thickness of 0.005in to 0.040in, with a tolerance of ±0.002in. Ultra-thin PDMS silicones can also be combined with other materials to form composites with specific characteristics.

 

Platinum cure silicone rolls for applications other than gas separation are also available. These come in 0.005in to 0.188in thickness and can be slit to custom widths from 3in to 15in. 

 

Die-cut PDMS sheets are suitable for applications requiring a gas-permeable or liquid-impermeable membrane. The PDMS membranes, which are used in gas sensing equipment, meet requirements for a very thin silicone gasket or seal made from an FDA or USP-grade material. With many common gases, PDMS membranes are more than 30 times more permeable than nonsilicone stable polymers.
