IP67 EtherCAT I/O modules suit harsh conditions

BECKOFF'S new ER series broadens the application range supported by the EtherCAT Box product portfolio. The ER I/O modules use die-cast zinc housings, making them extremely robust and ideal for particularly harsh environments such as heavy-duty industries. The products are also suitable for applications requiring greater load capacity and durability.

The IP67-rated I/O modules support a wide range of signals for all industrial applications together with the EP and EQ series. They are also designed for use outside the control cabinets. Fully compatible with the EP series, the ER modules offer the same wide I/O selection. This includes digital inputs with various filters, digital outputs with 0.5A output current, and "combination modules" supporting configurable digital inputs or outputs. Analog input modules for current/voltage measurement are likewise available. Temperature measurement modules, serial interfaces, encoder inputs, and motion modules complement the I/O features. M8 or M12 connectors enable connection to field devices and signals.

The I/O modules support an EtherCAT interface, a power supply connection, and M8 plugs or sockets for signal forwarding. Modules with a 7/8in power supply and an M12 EtherCAT socket are available for high-current outputs. The compact modules measure 126mm in height and 26.5mm in depth. Space-saving 30mm and 60mm wide modules are available in different channel variations. The EtherCAT Box Modules in the die-cast zinc version have an extended operating temperature range of -25 to +60°C and a storage temperature of -40 to +85°C. They complement the plastic and stainless steel housing versions.

The plastic EP variant is suitable for wet, dirty, or dusty environments in general mechanical engineering, assembly technology, and semiconductor and logistics environments. The EQ module series with full ‘hygienic design,' stainless steel housing and IP69K protection is ideal for the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
