The 8th edition of Japan’s largest plastics show held its grand opening on 28 October with high quality exhibits from innovative exhibitors

JAPAN-IPF Japan 2014, the 8th edition of Japan’s largest plastic show grandly opened at MakuhariMesse in Chiba City, Japan today (October 28). Being the most technologically advanced show in Asia, IPF Japan gathers 776 exhibitors from around the world showcasing the latest technologies in plastics processing, raw materials, and rubber production. The show will last for 5 days until November 1 with expected number of visitors from Japan and overseas to reach 45,000. 

According to the organiser, among this year’s 776 exhibitors (occupying 2,248 booths), 470 of them are Japanese companies or domestic companies, while 306 are from overseas. Taiwan ranks the second with a number of 64 exhibitors, including company like Chuan Lih Fa, Tan Star, Jenn Chong, Fong Kee and many others. Next in terms of number of exhibitors is Germany with46 exhibitors. There are 35 companies from the United States and 31 from China. The total number has increased by 25 compared to last time in 2011.

The theme of this year’s IPF is “Proposals from the Plastic and Rubber industry: Win the Competition among Raw materials- Challenge for Alternatives to Metal, Glass, and Ceramic.” During the opening ceremony, Katsuo Ito, Chairman of International Plastic Fair Association addressed the importance and potential of plastic and rubber industry. He also said that “ the latest products, technologies, services and information related to plastics and rubbers will be well presented  during the fair. IPF is also envisioned to provide a place for vital negotiations between world-leading businesses.”

International Plastics Fair Japan is one of the world’s most popular exhibitions known for the various technological innovations from both Japanese and foreign exhibitors. It is held once every three years. In JPF Japan 2011, there were 751 exhibitors and 2,217 booths; the show attracted 43,745 visitors from all over the world.
