NEW machine models and software enhancements will be shown at the Open House events in Ishida’s Woodgate, Birmingham headquarters.
The Open House, which will run from November 17 to 27, will feature a dedicated Snacks Demonstration area, where customers will see machines handling products such as crisps, salt sticks, and extruded snacks.
The company’s latest product developments on exhibit are specifically designed for snack packing applications. These include a fully automated case packing solution that integrates a seal tester and checkweigher. The twin delta-robot case packer boasts up to 150bpm packing capability per side. Positioned on 850mm centers, it features an integrated case erector and full product cookbook functionality for seamless switching between case patterns and pack sizes. Its compact footprint allows side-by-side installation of two systems, aligned with the output of an Ishida twin weigher/bagmaker combination.

The advanced weigher and bagmaker combinations will include an 18-head multihead weigher. This equipment from the RV series will perform at up to 120 packs per minute per side and operates in twin mode to fill potato crisps into two Ishida Atlas bagmakers. It features high system efficiency and less than 0.1g giveaway.
Ishida’s 16-head Sticks weigher will be installed above an Atlas bagmaker. It uses ultrasonic technology to produce high-quality seals while delivering the opportunity of significant reduction in film usage.
The company’s entry-level First Range weigher/bagmaker combination delivers a fast payback at a reduced investment level.
The display will also include special insertion tools that can be incorporated into Ishida weighing and bagging systems for special promotions. The Token Inserter and Pot Inserter can place free gifts and an accompanying dip or sauce directly into the bag. The Banner Device can apply a promotional message onto a pack. This means existing packaging can be used for the duration of a promotion without preparing a new artwork.
The specialist solutions include a bespoke line for flavored sticks. These also include Ishida’s recently launched high-speed but gentle handling salt-stick packing system.

The new Ishida Expert software is designed to offer computer-based training on Ishida products. It is a blended, interactive, and self-paced learning product for individual operators and technicians that can be received remotely on a customer’s site. It provides best-in-class training for setting up, operating, and maintaining Ishida equipment to ensure optimum performance levels at all times toward optimizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and return on investment.
The event will also highlight other advanced software support for snacks installations. These include the company’s pioneering iTPS, which supports linked operation of bagmakers with mulithead weighers, throat metal detectors, printers, seal testers, and checkweighers to maximize line efficiency. Meanwhile, the Ishida Data Capture System (IDCS II) captures data from every pack that passes across an Ishida checkweigher to monitor packing line performance and help improve OEE.
