WEIGHING and packing equipment specialist, Ishida Europe has partnered with Swedish company, Robotgrader to enhance its custom-built packing line solutions. Established in 2004, Robotgrader uses robotics in its weighing, sorting and packing equipment. Through their collaboration, Robotgrader products may now be integrated into Ishida’s fresh food packing lines alongside other Ishida equipment, including X-ray systems, tray sealers, seal testers and checkweighers. This will allow Ishida to offer new solutions that fit the needs of its customers.

Equipped with weighing and pick and place technologies, the Robotgrader can grade products of varying weight then pack them to a fixed weight straight into the pack. A belt weigher weighs the product, with calculations based on previously sorted products. This enables the machine to find the best combination. Next, the product is picked and placed into the appropriate pack.
“We have already worked with Robotgrader on a number of individual projects so this partnership is the ideal extension to our existing relationship. It will enable us to offer our fresh food customers further flexibility in the design and installation of packing lines that deliver excellent accuracy, product quality and presentation,” says Ulrich Nielsen, Ishida Europe’s director for Business Solutions.
“We are very pleased to be working with Ishida Europe,” confirms Sverre Stenbom, Managing Director of Robotgrader. “Fresh food producers will now benefit from integrated technically-advanced and quality- and profit-enhancing solutions.”
