ISRA to install inspection systems at POSCO plant

ISRA PARSYTEC, a supplier of surface inspection systems for the metal industry, has been commissioned to install the 49th surface inspection system at the plant Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO) in Kwangyang, South Korea. The inspection system is to be used in a galvanising line.

POSCO decided in favor of the technologically superior solution offered by ISRA PARSYTEC. The inspection system, which is currently being used, was also purchased from ISRA PARSYTEC in Germany. It is now being replaced by the more advanced system based on the Dual SensorTM.
The Dual SensorTM also offers two orthogonal types of illumination to cover quite different types of surface defects. Direct light enhances topographic surface imperfections, while diffuse light smoothes these kinds of defects to make even lower contrast defects visible.

The system will ensure 100% monitoring of surfaces at high production speeds on the steel production line, and thus guarantee perfect surface quality.
