James Huang: Bigger room for growth

With the higher demand for plastics all over the world, the plastics machinery sector is now moving towards improved standards, offering machinery with higher productivity, and providing better after-care services. Price is no longer the sole issue, but more important, quality and productivity. Jenn Chong Plastics Machinery is one of the most competitive plastics extrusion manufacturers in Taiwan. The company recently built a new factory in order to move forward and respond to growing demands from emerging markets. International Plastics News Asia (IRNA) had the opportunity to discuss with the company’s Sales Manager, James Huang, about this newly established factory, its facilities, and the company’s vision in doing so.

IRNA: What is the main purpose of building this new factory?

Mr. Huang: During the last six years, we received orders around the globe and honestly the orders were beyond our limited space can handle. We had a 3,000 sq.m. factory but that’s not enough. Because some of our products such as Multilayer Blown Film Extruders JC-CX Series, Monofilament Extruder Line JC-MNP and JC-MNN series and Strapping Band Extruder Lines JC-STP are all big-sized machines that take so much space, and to manufacture these highly complex machines takes time, space became a problem for us as we cope with growing orders.

In 2009, we decided to build a new factory building combined with the old one, making our factory more complete, and for us to have enough space for production workload. Now the new factory, together with the old one, occupies 7,000 sq.m. This is a very great advantage since now we can keep up with our growing orders easier and fast.

IRNA: What products will be manufactured in the new factory?

Mr. Huang: As I said, by connecting our new factory with the old one, we made it one huge factory. Therefore the enlargement of the factory to handle our growing orders is our main purpose. We have the technology and skills to develop our plastics machinery, but what we lacked before was space for manufacture. Now the newly constructed space plus the old space allows us to move ahead and increase our production.
