The ground-breaking ceremony of a new heat exchanger plant was held in Tainan Technology Industrial Park (TTIP), the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced.
The project, with a total investment of NT$5.5 billion, is expected to begin operation by the end of the year, with production worth an estimated NT$150 million in the first year and growing twofold in the next few years. The new plant covers an area of 10,514 square meters.

The plant of the Taiwan branch of Daikure, a major Japanese manufacturer of heat exchangers, will be the first to be set up in TJ Park, a special zone for innovative technologies, within TTIP.

The facility will be used to produce heat exchangers and their high-tech fin tubes, according to the MOEA's Department of Investment Services.

Widely used in refrigeration, air conditioning, power plants and so on, a heat exchanger is a piece of equipment made for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another.

In addition to manufacturing, Daikure Taiwan will begin research and development, sales and technical support activities, making Taiwan the sales center for the company's markets in China, Southeast Asia and the rest of the world, the department said.
