JBT integrates X-ray inspection to its food system offerings

JBT Corporation has acquired certain assets of Novus X-Ray LLC, a provider of advanced X-ray food inspection systems.

The recent purchase will enable the integration of the Novus X-ray technology into JBT’s Protein and Liquid Foods system offerings.

The X-ray inspection system adds the ability to detect a wide range of metallic and non-metallic food contaminants, and also stainless steel which is not only commonly used in food processing equipment but is very difficult to detect using only traditional metal detectors.

Aside from this, the benefits of the Novus X-ray system includes ease of use and low maintenance which can be compared to end-of-line metal detection – with the superior detection capability of X-ray.

The equipment will be supported by Novus technical team, while JBT’s global sales network will expand its sales.
