JEC Asia: Oerlikon

Mr. Eddie Woon is the Sales Engineer at Oerlikon.  The SOGEVAC Central Vacuum Systems come with two pressure levels for RTM applications.

The central vacuum system consists of 

? Two isolated and superposed parallel-piped expansion vessels: a vessel end pressure equipped with an anti-suckback valve designed to operate at the end pressure of the vacuum pump; a vessel regulated pressure equipped with an electromagnetic valve, designed to operate at a pressure set between a low and high set point.

? Each vessel is equipped with a distribution line with six connection pieces, 1/2 inch ball valve for 60I tank, ? inch for 150I tank and one manual drain valve.

? A SOGEVAC B vacuum pump

? Two protection filters: one paper cartridge filter CP and one charcoal filter CA

? An electrical control board including starting cabinet of the pump and pressure control

In the elaboration of composite materials it may sometimes be necessary for some processes to have two different pressure levels.  For the Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) light process,  the following is needed: a vacuum level for the closing of the mould and an adjustable vacuum level for the injection operation.  This demand could be performed with a vacuum pump and a central vacuum system or with one central vacuum system providing two pressure levels.
