Jordan''s industrial exports rise 16.7% in 2010

Petra has reported that Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) said that the kingdom's industrial exports jumped by16.7% to more than JD3.5 billion (US$4.9 billion) in 2010. Exports, which constituted 90% of total national exports certified through the Amman, Irbid and Zarqaa chambers of industry, had hit JD3.539 billion (US$4.963 billion) over last year, compared with JD3.032 billion (US$4.252 billion) in 2009. Engineering, electrical and IT industries topped the list, accounting for JD623 million (US$873 million) of exports, followed by leather and garments manufactures with JD589 million (US$826 million) in revenues.
