JSW plans strategic tie-ups with SSCs

JSW is looking forward to strategic tie-ups with steel service centres (SSCs) in the auto hubs of the country. As the steel industry is moving more towards one-stop solution platforms from simply steel making, JSW is all set to tap this opportunity. The objective remains simple :'customised product for the end users' and 'just-in-time delivery'. In an exclusive conversation with Steel Insights, vice president, sales and marketing, JSW Steel, Sharad Mahendra, said, "The company already has a captive SSC at its Vijayanagar plant. But we have realised that to cater to customers better, SSCs are required. Thus, the company will be going for strategic tie-ups with SSCs in the Chennai, Pune and greater Noida or Gurgaon regions to serve the customers there better." "The technology team is at present evaluating the SSCs. We will be going ahead only with those SSCs , which are approved by auto grade . So far the company has not zeroed in on any particular SSC," he added.(the end)Bodega
