K 2013: KUKA displays its sector expertise

Source:KUKA Roboter GmbH Release Date:2013-09-18 200
Plastics & Rubber
Robot manufacturer KUKA Roboter GmbH is presenting innovative products at booth C49, Hall 12, which are excellently equipped to meet the requirements of the plastics industry

EXPERTS from KUKA Roboter GmbH (Augsburg, Germany) are demonstrating not only their robot specialists for the plastics industry but also new, creative ideas for combining robots and plastic at K 2013 trade fair in Düsseldorf.

The possibilities for employing robots in the plastics industry are extremely varied: irrespective of whether they are loading or unloading plastic machines, cutting off sprues, flame-machining and milling components or carrying out various handling tasks, robots are used in almost all areas. What counts is above all flexibility, reach and speed – requirements that KUKA Roboter meets in full with its product portfolio.

Specialists for the plastics industry

For the special requirements of the plastics industry, the KR QUANTEC shelf-mounted robots series comprises 11 models in two product lines – KR QUANTEC K prime and KR QUANTEC K ultra. Thanks to the optimized payload and reach intervals, the customer is always able to select a robot that is ideally suited to the specific application. The dead weight has been reduced and axis 2 is located further forward, allowing these shelf-mounted robots to cover the working space ideally, achieving high dynamic properties and allowing short cycle times.

With a maintenance interval of 20,000 hours, the KUKA shelf-mounted robot requires very little maintenance and offers great reliability.

Short cycle times are also the main point of emphasis in robots in the KR AGILUS series. These small robots impress with extreme precision and high speed, making them ideal for handling plastic parts as well as loading and unloading plastic machines in the shortest possible time.

KUKA's system partner, FPT Robotik, is displaying a solution with a KR AGILUS at the KUKA booth. In the application, visitors to K will be able to experience the speed and precision of the small robot from KUKA. Furthermore, a large number of partners is displaying KUKA robots in an extremely wide range of applications at the show.

Automation solutions for every requirement

From planning and integration to operator control, maintenance and adaptation – KUKA offers automation solutions for every customer requirement together with an extensive worldwide network of system partners.

Commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability In the search for effective automation solutions in the plastics industry, energy efficiency is an important factor. At the same time, robots are among those components of a plastics processing system that use comparatively little energy. As a member of the VDMA's Blue Competence initiative, KUKA Roboter GmbH is actively committed to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Plastic processing becomes creative Visitors to the K 2013 can experience live at booth C49, Hall 12 that KUKA robots can be used in more than just industrial production of plastic parts. Together with ETTO Design Labs, visitors to the show in Düsseladidas superstar damen glitzer silber
