KanPak China assumes control of Guangzhou produce facility

KANPAK China has agreed to the terms which give it full control and management of Guangzhou OSI Food Co. Ltd, a supplier of fruits, vegetables and nuts.  On 29 August, it announced the signing of a Management Services Agreement (MSA) that will give it 100% control of Guangzhou OSI. Under the terms, the plant will continue its operations and ensure that it meets local regulatory requirements well as its clients’ demands.

Based in Hubei Province, KanPak is a subsidiary of Golden State Foods, a specialist in liquid products, dairy, produce, meat, and full-line distribution services. The company was acquired by Golden State in 2012, and has since been expanding its product line and offerings across its mother company’s product lines. 

“We're pleased to expand our business in China to include produce with this management services agreement," said Mark Wetterau, chairman and CEO of Golden State Foods. "We're accessing GSF's global resources and those of its partners to provide outstanding quality with assured supply to the Chinese market."

Golden State Foods is a partner of Taylor Fresh Foods in Salinas, California, and operates a produce processing plan in Sydney and Perth in Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand.  The company supplies over 125,000 quick service restaurants worldwide.
