Kiefel acquires SWA

GERMANY-SWA has been acquired by Kiefel. SWA, which was founded by two engineers from the automotive supply industry over 20 years ago, has around 130 employees, and serves as partner to well-known vehicle manufacturers and suppliers in developing and producing tools, machines and systems for the manufacture of vehicle interior, exterior and acoustic insulation parts. SWA's products are used in all the important vehicle manufacturing locations around the world and are an ideal addition to the Kiefel product and technology portfolio.

The acquisition is consistent with the growth strategy of the Brückner Group and the objective to strength existing parts of the Group by expanding our product range.

By integrating SWA, Kiefel will add die cutting and pressing technologies to its technology range and will also develop competence in press laminating and pressing natural fibres, as well as in the corresponding toolmaking areas. For Kiefel, this is an important step to becoming a complete provider in the automotive interior sector.

The management team will consists of the existing Managing Director Mr Jürgen Heidel and the Director Automotive Industry at Kiefel GmbH Mr Andreas Frisch.

Kiefel GmbH is part of the Brückner group, based in Siegsdorf, which is a global leader in supplying machines and systems for manufacturing plastic and has around 1,800 employees. Other group members: Brückner Maschinenbau is a global market leader in film stretching technology, Brückner Servtec provides a wide range of services for film stretching lines, PackSys Global supplies special machines for the packaging industry.
