Korea Pack to address environmentalism

KOREA PACK 2013 is the country’s representative show on packaging equipment for the food,  pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and electronics industries. It runs concurrently with two other shows – COPHEX for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, and  KOREA LAB for laboratory and analytical equipment – from 28 to 31 May 2013 at KINTEX in Goyang.

KOREA PACK is now one of the top three international packaging exhibitions in Asia. Last year’s exhibiting participants came from 25 countries, whilst 40,000 trade visitors (buyers) came from all over the world. The show will feature advances in green packaging, as signaled by the 2013 fair’s theme slogan “Good Packaging, Good Environment.” The fair will showcase products from more than 800 international companies. Recently the KINTEX exhibition hall has been expanded to 50,000m2.

Demand from primary and secondary industries in South Korea keeps the packaging industry robust, with total sales figures amounting to KRW29 trillion. Prospects of scale are larger than both the software KRW20 trillion and the bio KRW5 trillion industries. Moreover, global sales are expected to increase to KRW43 trillion by 2015.

The exhibition will cover packaging equipment, materials and containers, food processing machinery, design and services, and logistic systems and equipment.
