KRAIBURG TPE Malaysia plant now ISO 50001 certified

KRAIBURG TPE has been successful in gaining ISO 50001 certification at its Malaysian plant, emphasizing the company’s commitment to continuous improvements in both energy efficiency and environmental management. With this certification, the company will strive to capture, sustain, and continuously expand energy savings, while supporting sustainability and carbon reduction goals.

ISO 50001, the international energy management system standard, aims at reducing energy consumption by improving efficiency. It specifies requirements applicable to energy use and consumption, including measurement, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices for equipment, systems, processes and personnel that contributes to energy performance.

To achieve this standard, KRAIBURG TPE Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. had to integrate energy management practices into its existing management systems, including implementing energy policies such as energy consumption reduction targets, a detailed action plan to achieve targets and monitoring of the standards via an internal energy auditing programme.

The ISO 50001 is an exceptional endorsement of KRAIBURG TPE’s commitment towards improving energy efficiency, in addition to its existing ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO14001 Environmental Management certifications.  As such, KRAIBURG TPE is implementing its Integrated Management System with the ISO 50001 along with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for continuous, organization-wide improvement.
 
Together with KRAIBURG TPE‘s “CARING YOU & ME“ Energy Awareness Campaign launched in April 2014, which focuses on the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of its employees, the ISO 50001 certification is set to improve energy performance, minimize operational costs, enhanced brand image and reputation through quality products, and better quality of life for its employees and the community.
