Kraton announced first commercial application of its NEXAR Polymer Technology

Kraton Performance Polymers, a key manufacturer of styrenic block copolymers, has reported the first commercial application of the company’s NEXAR polymer technology.

The Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kraton Performance Polymers, Holger R. Jung informed that Columbia Sportswear has introduced its latest cooling technology, which is the NEXAR specialty polymer technology’s first commercial application. Columbia Sportswear is a key player in the performance apparel industry and is recognized for deploying latest and advanced technologies in its product line.

Kraton Performance Polymers’ NEXAR polymer technology features novel performance qualities, which make it suitable for performance apparel. NEXAR shows potential for use in water management and humidification and dehumidification processes. The company anticipates reporting more such commercial applications for its NEXAR polymer technology in the coming years.

Kraton Performance Polymers will emphasize the NEXAR polymer technology’s various applications and will demonstrate other products and advancements at its 2012 Investor Day, which will be conducted at the Ritz Carlton Battery Park located in New York on August 2, 2012.

The company’s polymers are utilized in a variety of applications such as footwear products, roofing, paving, automotive, packaging, medical, sealants and lubricants, personal care and consumer products, coatings and adhesives. Kraton Polymers is the operating subsidiary of Kraton Performance Polymers.
