Krones acquires German company

Krones, the world’s market leader for beverage filling and packaging technology, has purchased 100% of the stock in HST Maschinenbau GmbH, a German company located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that designs and manufactures homogenisers and reciprocating pumps for the food and beverage industries.

HST Maschinenbau GmbH is a profitable company, and in 2012 achieved a turnover of almost 5 million euros with a workforce of around 25 people. The price for the stock is in the mid-single-figure-million range.

With this strategic decision, Krones is planning to upgrade its future corporate capabilities in the field of process technology, designed for producing juices and milk, and to expand its global service and maintenance business in this sector.

The agreement is still subject to approval by the antitrust regulators.
