Kuwaiti packaging materials supplier signs lease with Kizad

A NEW contract between the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) and Gulf Printing and Packaging Co. puts in place a 50-year lease at the industrial zone.

Gulf Printing is a subsidiary of Al Khat Packaging Co., a manufacturer of printing and packaging materials based in Kuwait, and is known to be the only approved provider for McDonald’s in the Middle East. The company will lease a 22,066sqm (237,516sqf) area at the port’s “Mixed Use” cluster. This will be Al Khat’s first production plant for folding paper packaging and printing products outside of Kuwait.

According to Al Khat officials, the move to expand in Abu Dhabi will help the company meet the requirements of its growing international base. They said that Kizad’s infrastructure and ideal business environment will be valuable tothe company’s growth. The plant will begin operation in 2016. NikeLab ACG.07.KMTR
