Kyocera wins Environment Minister's Award

The record 5th consecutive year award recognizes the comprehensive energy-saving programs implemented by the company's manufacturing plant
FOR the fifth consecutive year, Kyocera Corporation has won the 2014 Environment Minister's Award for Global Warming Prevention Activity. 
 
The company's Kagoshima Kokubu manufacturing plant in the Kagoshima Prefecture was recently recognized for its environmental protection activities, specifically in the implementation of countermeasures/dissemination category of the Award.

Established by Japan's Ministry of the Environment in 1998, the award is presented every December to coincide with the Global Warming Prevention Month. It aims to recognize individuals and groups who have made significant strides in preventing climate change. 

 

Kyocera's Kagoshima Kokubu Plant, which was nominated for the Award by the local township, was recognized for its efforts to improve the energy consumption basic unit, alleviate electricity demand, and reduce CO2 emissions in transportation. In addition, the facility was recognized for its community-based efforts, including its biodiversity conservation programs and the “Eco-Lessons” it offers at local schools.
The Environment Minister’s Award adds to the recognition the Kyocera Group has received worldwide for its environmental efforts. Kyocera Document Solutions Deutschland GmbH in Germany has won the Blue Angel Award 2014.  Kyocera Communications Inc. from the city of San Diego, U.S. was awarded the annual recycling award for the fourteenth consecutive year.
