CANADA’S Lallemand Health Solutions is a Scientific Partner for the 2nd International Symposium on Probiotics & Prebiotics in Pediatrics (IS3P) that takes place in Antalya, Turkey from March 7-9, 2014. This symposium is also an opportunity for the company to promote the scientific results and clinical studies on its probiotics in children among local pediatricians.
Lallemand Health Solutions (LHS) has developed several probiotic solutions with proven benefits in children health. The most documented solution in this area is Lacidofil?, a combination of the specific strains Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11, supported by numerous pre-clinical studies and 23 human trials, including many pediatric studies. These have shown benefits in antibiotic-associated diarrhea prevention in children, H. pylori eradication, acute gastroenteritis in children, management of IBS symptoms and lactose intolerance (Foster et al., 2011).
Lacidofil has been sold in Europe, Asia and North America since 1995 as a food supplement or pharmaceutical, and the company is presently looking for a partner to distribute the product in Turkey.
Following the sponsorship of the recent Probiota 2014 conference, this involvement by LHS in a pediatric conference marks our commitment to support and promote scientific events dedicated to the advancement of probiotics science and applications. In particular, in Turkey and many other markets, children and infants health represent important fields of application for probiotics, with proven benefits in overall digestive health, diarrhea prevention, or immunity.
