LANXESS to double capacities at Liyang plant

LANXESS plans to more than double production capacities at its plant in Liyang, Jiangsu province, in order to meet increasing demand in China. The expansion of the plant, which manufactures trimethylolpropane (TMP), trimethylolpropane dimer (Di-TMP) and calcium formate (Cafo), will be undertaken in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010 and the second phase by the end of 2011. A prerequisite of the expansion is the installation of new technology in the wastewater treatment facility belonging to the plant. This facility will help further reduce the plant's emissions. LANXESS applied its advanced production processes based on German technology to create an environmentally friendly production site.
