Lanxess opens new headquarters in Europe

The new headquarters of LANXESS Central Eastern Europe s.r.o. were officially inaugurated on 13 March 2014 by Rainier van Roessel, Member of the Board and Labor Relations Director as well as the German Ambassador to Slovakia, Michael Schmunk. 

Lanxess has been represented in the markets of Austria, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic since 2008 by its own sales company for central and eastern Europe. LANXESS Central Eastern Europe s.r.o. is headquartered in the Slovakian capital Bratislava. It also has offices in Vienna (Austria), Warsaw (Poland) and Budapest (Hungary). 

One of the key areas of operation in the five countries is business with high-performance rubbers and rubber chemicals for the global megatrend of mobility. The company supplies its rubber specialties mainly to national and international tire manufacturers, more and more of whom are expanding their production capacities in central and eastern Europe and increasingly turning to green tires to significantly reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. 

Another cornerstone of LANXESS’s business is high-tech plastics, which also serve the future market of green mobility. Premium plastics from LANXESS are paving the way in particular for more economical vehicles in the area of lightweight construction. In spite of their low weight, they are extremely stable and, especially in plastic composites, offer a forward-looking alternative to metal, for example, which is significantly heavier. 

Around half of the sales of these products in the region are generated by customers from the automotive and automotive supplier industries. There is also strong demand in central and eastern Europe for inorganic pigments from LANXESS. These are used in the construction industry to color concrete parts, paving stones and roofing tiles.
