Laser machining solutions from SCHUNK

Source:SCHUNK Release Date:2013-08-02 287
Metalworking
The SCHUNK Lasertechnik GmbH from Lauffen/Neckar enlarged the program of their PSM 400 laser welding machines.

The PSM 400 Performance is attractive in price, and purposefully designed for laser machining of tool steel. High-precision linear axes, a fully adequate CNC control with real-time simulation, a robust laser source, and reflection-safe fibers ensure for high precision and repeat accuracy.

By means of a user-friendly HMC controller and a teach-in function for lines, arcs, circles, and splines, the machine is extremely quick to set-up in the three-dimensional space. Welding processes can be process-reliably replicated any number of programming. As a laser source powerful Nd:YAG lasers from JK Lasers (GSI-Group Company) from 150 W to 450 W are available. The robust design, high-quality ceramic cavities, and a thermally stable resonator ensure a long-term high beam quality. The pulse stability amounts to +/- 0.5%. With a pulse peak power of 5 kW to 10 kW, the laser source generates pulse energy from 35 J to 100 J.

The other SCHUNK laser welding machines of the PSM 400 series are also extremely flexible, with three, four, or five axes. They enable fast and convenient machining of both small and large components. A machine table with electric height adjustment, double rotation, and a sliding-rotating laser welding head provide for maximum flexibility in the working area. The operator has full access to all machining, programming, and control functions, regardless of the component size. The user-friendly look-ahead controller and the unique teach function for line, arc, circle, and spline allow fast set-up and programming of the laser welding machines. To ensure an optimal focal distance, they can be equipped with mechanical (MDA) or laser-supported (LDA) distance adjustment. For machining of high-temperature resistant nickel or cobalt based alloys, the high-end lasers from Lasag with pulse duration of up to 200 ms are available.Adidas
