Industrial laser manufacturer JK Lasers has hailed this year’s LASYS a resounding success. Its newly launched 2kW fiber laser (JK2000FL) attracted considerable interest throughout the three-day event, with enquiries fielded from a broad cross-section of industries and research institutes.

The powerful JK2000FL is suited to a wide range of applications such as cutting, cladding and welding. Example processes include cutting hydro-formed tubes for the automotive industry and welding titanium aircraft structures. The JK2000FL is able to cut 15mm thick low carbon steel (LCS), 6mm aluminium alloys and 10mm stainless steel (304SS), as well as weld 8mm LCS and 304SS.

JK Lasers also demonstrated the cutting and welding capabilities of a 300W air-cooled fiber laser (JK300FL) during the exhibition. The laser was integrated into the JK System 5000; a compact workstation that features a range of customisable options, including linear and rotary axes, process tools and scan heads.

Held between 12 and 14 June, LASYS 2012 attracted 178 exhibitors, with only around a quarter coming from outside Germany. The presence of UK-based JK Lasers at the show reflects the company’s concerted efforts to enhance its presence in Germany over the coming months.
Michael Haase, recently appointed German Sales Manager for JK Lasers, said: “I am certain that our attendance at this year’s show really helped raise awareness in Germany of JK Lasers’ products and services.

“Most visitors to our stand had specific applications-based questions and some brought actual parts to be processed. We were able to discuss their requirements in detail, propose solutions and offer sample processing in our specialist applications laboratories.”

JK Lasers will next exhibit in Germany at Laser World of Photonics, Munich, between 13 and 16 May 2013. For more information about JK Lasers, including details of upcoming events, visit www.jklasers.com.
